- Haslemere Educational Museum, Haslemere (2 miles).
Founded in 1888 by Sir Jonathan Hutchinson. Geology, botany, zoology, archaeology and social history. Egyptian Mummy. Beehive, herb garden and pond in the grounds.

- The Witley Centre, GU8 5QA, Witley (4 miles). Woodland walks, ponds, interactive information centre, wildlife.
- Winkworth Arboretum, GU8 4AD, Hascombe Road, Godalming (14 miles). All kind of tree species, many paths, beautiful views, lake, information centre and tea room. Tel: 01483208477.

Shown as in 1874 when H.G. Wells’mother was housekeeper. Garden and woodlands with far reaching views to the Solent.
- Devil’Punch Bowl Café, Hindhead (5 miles)
The gateway to the Surrey Hills, with fine views, stunning scenery, viewpoint 50yds from the café.

- Grayshott Pottery, Grayshot, GU26 6LR, (5 miles) Housed in an old stone laundry, the pottery is a unique visitor attraction, nestling in beautiful wooded countryside.
- Jane Austen’s House, Chawton, near Alton (20 miles) The novelist Jane Austen is known worldwide for her popular novels describing the society of pre-industrial England. She spent the last eight years of her life here at Chawton in the 17th century house which is now preserved in her memory.
